My dissertation, titled “American Hand Lettering”. It consists of two pieces: a book and a poster. The book briefly summarizes the history of commercial hand lettering, and questions why we are still drawing type by hand. I interviewed, amongst others, Ed Fella and Steven Heller. The poster focuses on my own incentives for drawing type by hand, and works as my participation in the ongoing conversation on the topic. All the headlines, exerts, titles etc. are entirely done by hand.

The last brief I did last term, called Wordless. We were expected to clearly communicate a message without the use of words, letters or numbers. I chose to focus on food, or on the hidden facts behind food production,rather. The end result was a set of alternative food-labels, revealing secrets about the certain product in a very iso-type and rebus-looking style. The colors on the labels correspond to that particular products typical packaging color.

A series of fictive exhibition-posters I did at Central Saint Martins right before Christmas. The college has a stunning collection of material collected originally by staff, such as pages of early manuscripts, early printed books and much more. We were given the task to design 3 poster fronts, and 1 poster back - based on our favorite artifact.

Where Is Our Space is the name of a series of installations that was put up around Central Saint Martins, Southampton Row, Wednesday 25.11.2009. Through Where Is Our Space the artists wish to put focus on the lack of communication between students and the administration at our college. Over the last few years the students at Southampton Row has gone from having a student bar, a student cafe and a social outdoor smoking garden, to having none whatsoever. All these decisions seem to have been done without communication between staff and students. We wanted to show through these instillation’s that we feel our space has been stolen. With the installations we hope to raise questions about these decisions - hopefully making both students and staff aware of the benefits that comes through dialogue. We also threw up a heavily modified Tumblr-blog while we were at it, to get peoples opinions and thoughts. The project is still running in terms of gathering signatures, and we are planning on handing in the petition to the course leaders pretty soon. A small website for Finnish company Teleste’s network solution - Ethernet over Coax. The product range and concept demanded a lot of  explanatory illo’s, so we decided to go for a isometric style that let us place all the individual products and elements freely in the format without having to sorry about perspective etc. This is still at pitching level, although it will most likely go live pretty soon. Poster for club night “Grei Skuring” at Parkteatret in Oslo. The theme was based on 50’s housewives and cleaning, as the event was somewhat sponsored by Norwegian hygiene and cleaning article company Lilleborg. “Grei Skuring” is a non-translatable pun referring to something being A-OKAY, but it also refers to cleaning or scrubbing. The design was based on the label from the Norwegian washing-up liquid classic “Zalo” - with a few minor tweaks in both the layout and the color. Collaboration with Martin Batt. Development, conceptualization and branding of an online reward scheme based around a social networking site. Me.inc lets it’s users to form groups based on their interests, so the users can go together and lobby towards the affiliated brands to make the changes they want to their favorite products. The brief included developing the actual reward scheme and how it works, branding the name, website design, point of entry and point of sale, as well as developing a few ideas for launch campaigns. 1st place in D & AD Student Awards 2009., in the category for Brand Identity. Collaboration with Martin Batt.
